A Day Course for Dramatic Voices
Saturday May 4th, 10am – 6pm in London, UK.
Much like the Green Room of an opera house, this masterclass series is all about creating an opportunity for select singers and industry professionals to discuss thoughts, repertoire, and career options in a casual and approachable atmosphere, as well as the opportunity to make professional connections with everyone on the course. We hope to delve into artistic interpretation, repertoire choices, Fach, audition repertoire, career advice, industry questions, future career plans, tricks-of-the-trade, and learn from the discussions and performances of other singers. This casual yet professional atmosphere will allow for structured portions as well as chats at break times and lunch with everyone in attendance.
Our Industry Professionals will be soprano Alwyn Mellor and conductor Lionel Friend. Playing for the course will be Kelvin Lim.
Six participants will be invited to prepare 2x audition arias each that they would like to work on; one in the morning masterclass and one in the afternoon masterclass. Here, singers will have the chance to individually discuss their own repertoire, Fach, career thoughts and industry questions. The schedule will also allow time for several informal chat moments as well as a large group discussion in between sessions with our industry professionals.
The cost is the price of a singing lesson, and the course will last a whole day. There are places to eat nearby or the chance to bring your own food to eat in the kitchen where coffee, tea and nibbles will be provided.
